Students in primary grades begin to develop skills and awareness of the holiday cycle, synagogue ritual, Jewish values & ethics, Torah study, and begin a program of Hebrew Reading Readiness. Departmental services, music sessions with music teacher, arts and crafts, field trips, and Family Education Programs enhance classroom studies.

Hebrew School Curriculum - 3rd-7th Grade
Tues 4:00-6:30, Sun 9:00-11:15 or Wed 4:00-6:30, Sun 10:45-1:00
  • 3rd Grade: My Jewish lifecycle events and values
  • 4th Grade: My relationship with Israel and Jews around the world
  • 5  th Grade: Jewish Heroes, Midrash and the 10 commandments.
  • 6th Grade: Jewish History, Identity and Ethics,
  • 7th Grade: The Holocaust, Current events, Bar Mitzvah preparation

Students in grades 3rd through 7th begin an integrated Hebrew and Judaica curriculum. Hebrew and Judaic studies are taught during both Sunday and weekday session. Hebrew is both the universal historical language of the Jewish people and the modern language of the State of Israel. Students will become acquainted with Modern Hebrew vocabulary through stories, games and activities

Students develop a literacy in siddur Hebrew,  begin to understand the meaning of prayers, develop a basic Hebrew vocabulary, study lifecycle events, understand  historical turning points, research major contributions of significant people, explore the weekly Torah portions and grapple with ethical dilemmas.
