Gail Eisen, Ph.D. will present a program "From Sinatra to Simon: Images of Aging as Reflected in Popular Songs." Her topic invites one to consider a sampling of popular songs spanning several decades that convey themes on aging and images of the life-cycle. She asks the question, "How might songs experienced in childhood shape our ideas and assumptions about what it is like to grow older."
Dr. Eisen is a teacher and consultant in the psychology of aging and is a former Fulbright Senior Scholar who has taught at UCLA, and several other U.S. colleges as well as in Kenya, Bulgaria, Egypt, Israel and India. Her students have ranged in age from 7 to 97 years old.
Lunch for only $5.00 will follow her presentation.
