What better way to mark an anniversary, birthday, or happy occasion than a donation to a CTJ Fund? You can make a donation in honor or memory of a person. We’ll be happy to send a tribute note to whomever you designate, letting them know that a donation was made in their honor.  When you make your donation you may want to chose a specific fund to which your donation will be made. Here is the list of CTJ’s different funds and their purposes:

  • General Fund -  Provides critically needed funds for the day to day functioning of our synagogue functions and facility. Dues and fundraising never adequately cover this critical aspect of our shul, particularly now as charitable donation to non-profit organizations wane. This fund is a vital and very important Mitzvah contribution.
  • Yahrzeit Fund  - A traditionally meaningful way to mark the Yahrzeit memorial of a loved one. Donations to this fund defray the cost of sending out memorial reminders, maintain Yahrzeit Memorials, and will subsidize the funding our new and beautiful Memorial Wall in our remodelled sanctuary.
  • Building Fund - Fund designated for maintenance and general repairs of the building.

  • Torah & Siddur Fund  - Used for the maintenance and repair of our Torah scrolls, covers and adornments and for replacement and covering of prayer books.
  • Rabbi’s Discretionary Fund  - Donations to the Rabbi's Fund are disbursed on your behalf with confidentiality and discretion by Rabbi Hyman to worthy and deserving charitable, educational, and Jewish cultural causes. Beneficiaries include but are not limited to established community and international relief efforts, emergency relief for local individuals and families, and scholarships for Jewish summer camp and Israel youth programs.
  • Cantor’s Discretionary Fund - Cantor Berger designates this discretionary fund to deserving charitable, educational, and musical endeavors, and is also available to enhance creative musical and spiritual efforts at CTJ.
  • Rabbi Marvin & Miriam Bornstein Chapel Fund -Our most recent fund, established on the occasion of Rabbi Bornstein’s 90th Birthday.  This fund is dedicated to the establishment of a worship chapel in honor of Rabbi Marvin and Miriam Bornstein.
  • Early Childhood Center Fund - Provides much needed financial assistance for our excellent ECC pre-school program.  In 2008-09 this fund made the beautification of the parking lot and playground a reality and provided additional play equipment.
  • Educational Enrichment Fund - Subsidizes Religious School and its enrichment programs, un-budgeted expenses, and student scholarships.
  • Abrams Youth Scholarship Fund and Michael Rotstein Scholarship Fund -  For camp scholarships, and other youth educational purposes such as Israel youth programs. Applications are available from the office and must be submitted at least 3 months prior to a program.
  • Anna Shure Camp Ramah Scholarship Fund - For camp Ramah scholarships.
  • Formann - Sirota Music Fund  - Funds aspects of CTJ’s premier musical service, “Light Up Shabbat”. It reaches and touches all who love blending music and prayer.
  • Alan Reinstein Memorial Fund - Contributions are directed to the beautification of CTJ in memory of Alan Reinstein, a beloved former CTJ board member.
