School Mission
The mission of the CTJ Religious School is to produce responsible and knowledgeable Jews who can participate as such in the home, synagogue, and Jewish Community. The school seeks to provide these skills through experiences such as classroom learning, music, tefilah, family services, art, drama family learning experiences and field trips. Our goals are to:
- Establish and nurture a strong Jewish identity through a study of Torah, Jewish history, holidays and traditions, ethical studies, mitzvot and Hebrew language.
- Establish the habit and skills of tefilah (prayer) inside the synagogue and home environments.
- Participate in tzedakah (social justice), tikkum olam (repair of the world) and gemilut hassidim(acts of caring)
- Identify with the State of Israel
- Develop a sense of a greater Jewish community.
- Help students understand that Judaism is all around us as we interact with our community and the world.
