Shofar, So Good… 100 Years of Belonging

As we enter into the year 5786, we are reminded that October marks our hundredth anniversary. Beginning in the West Adams neighborhood of Los Angeles, CTJ has been home to the Jewish Community since 1925. Marking this Centennial High Holy Day Season with our CTJ community is both a blessing and a milestone.

For a century, the High Holy Days at CTJ have offered us sacred space to reflect, renew, and return—to ourselves, to one another, and to our values. From stirring blasts of the shofar to heartfelt prayer and communal connection, this season has always been a powerful anchor in our shared Jewish life. As we gather once again to mark this holy time, we do so with gratitude for the generations who came before us and hope for the generations still to come.

Together, we look ahead with a commitment to sustainability—of spirit, community, and tradition—for the next hundred years.

Shofar, so good!

High Holy Day Pledge Campaign

As we enter this Centennial High Holy Day season, we invite you to be part of something truly meaningful. This upcoming October 17th marks our 100th anniversary - a century of spiritual growth and belonging. Our annual Pledge Campaign is one of our primary sources of support that helps us sustain the programs, services, and experiences we enjoy throughout the year, as well as provide us a secure environment and the ability to ensure all families can be a part of our community. Your pledge ensures we can continue thriving for the next hundred years.

If now is not the right time, there will be more opportunities to make your pledge as the season continues.

Thank you so much for your support of CTJ.
